Built in 1876, the home is filled with period furniture. The David Adler Cultural Center is housed in the former home of David Adler, one of Chicago's great architects. The center offers art and music classes, concerts, art exhibitions and other special events year-round. The gift shop features handmade jewelry, toys, stationery, ceramics, glassware, books and baskets.

The Libertyville Civic Center provides numerous community services and programs, along with meeting and party rooms. The Libertyville Senior Center offers programs and events for the village’s senior citizens. Nearby Lamb's Farm is a residential, vocational and social support center for disabled adults. Vocational training sites include a bakery, pet shop, and restaurant. The farm also has a petting zoo, miniature golf, a carousel and pony rides.

Marytown, a Conventual Franciscan friary of the St. Bonaventure Province, houses a shrine to Maximilian Kolbe, a Conventual Franciscan priest. Four mosaics depict his life of charity and sacrifice. The Ravinia Festival in nearby Highland Park is America’s summer opera capital. This venue for classical music opened in 1911 and holds concerts and educational programs all year. Also nearby are the Tempel Lipizzan Farms.
